As a Lead Instructor, you will be responsible for managing the center’s learning floor. This will include the management of staff, students, as well as the learning environment. The Lead Instructor's goal is to run the learning floor as efficiently as possible and create an environment where our team of instructors and students perform their best!
Lead Instructor Role:
- Assist in student/instructor scheduling and understand daily schedules
- Manage student to instructor ratio and maintain balance on the learning floor
- Inspect student and instructor performance and make necessary adjustments
- Support the instructional staff by making necessary adjustments to the learning floor
- Assist in student binder maintenance and curriculum management
- Assist in other administrative tasks as assigned
Lead Instructor Characteristics:
- Leadership: Lead Instructors must lead their team by example and uphold center expectations. There may be times when you will need to further train instructors, or provide corrective actions to benefit the learning experience.
- Decisive: Lead Instructors need to be able to identify issues and make decisions that benefit the student/instructor learning environment.
- Facilitator: Lead instructors must be able to manage student traffic and seating. Lead instructors help students check-in, get seated with the best fit instructor or learning station, ensure a positive learning experience, assist in student check-out and departure.
- Professional: Lead Instructors must interact with students and co-workers in a friendly but professional manner at all times and establish a high level of confidence and program value with Mathnasium families. We approach everything from a point of positivity and build students up in a safe and comfortable environment.
Qualifications:
- Passion for math and working with students
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Eagerness to learn and be trained
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
- Ability to balance leadership and instructional responsibilities
All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check.

Compensation: $19.50 - $20.50 per hour
